From Vinegar to Newspaper: Unconventional Window Cleaning Hacks

From Vinegar to Newspaper: Unconventional Window Cleaning Hacks

When it comes to cleaning windows, most people reach for the standard glass cleaner and paper towels. But what if I told you there are unconventional window cleaning hacks that are just as effective, if not more so? From using vinegar to newspaper, these unexpected methods can leave your windows sparkling clean and streak-free.

Vinegar and Water Solution

One of the most popular unconventional window cleaning hacks is using a vinegar and water solution. Simply mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and shake well. Spray the solution onto your windows and wipe with a microfiber cloth or sponge. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and degreaser, making it an effective cleaner for windows. Plus, it leaves behind a streak-free finish.

Newspaper for Streak-Free Shine

Instead of using paper towels to wipe down your windows, try using newspaper. The ink in newspaper helps to absorb the vinegar and water solution, leaving your windows streak-free and shiny. Simply crumple up a sheet of newspaper and wipe down your windows in a circular motion. You’ll be amazed at how clean and clear your windows look after using this method.

Baking Soda Paste for Tough Stains

For windows with tough stains or grime, try using a baking soda paste. Mix baking soda with a little water to create a paste, then apply it to the stained areas of your windows. Let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub with a sponge or cloth. The abrasive nature of baking soda helps to break down tough stains, leaving your windows looking like new.

Lemon Juice for a Fresh Scent

If you want your windows to not only look clean but smell fresh as well, try using lemon juice as a window cleaner. Mix equal parts lemon juice and water in a spray bottle and shake well. Spray the solution onto your windows and wipe with a microfiber cloth. The citric acid in lemon juice helps to cut through grease and grime, while leaving behind a fresh citrus scent.

Q: Are these unconventional window cleaning hacks safe to use on all types of windows?

A: Yes, these hacks are safe to use on most types of windows, including glass, vinyl, and aluminum. However, it’s always a good idea to test a small area first to ensure there are no adverse reactions.

Q: Can I use these hacks to clean windows that are high up or difficult to reach?

A: While these hacks can be effective for cleaning windows at any height, it’s important to prioritize safety. If you’re unable to safely reach high windows, consider hiring a professional window cleaner.

Q: How often should I clean my windows using these unconventional methods?

A: It’s recommended to clean your windows using these methods at least once every few months to maintain their cleanliness and appearance. However, you may need to clean them more frequently if they are exposed to dirt, pollen, or other contaminants.

In conclusion, these unconventional window cleaning hacks offer a natural and effective way to keep your windows clean and streak-free. From vinegar to newspaper, baking soda to lemon juice, these methods are budget-friendly and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional glass cleaners. Give them a try and see the difference for yourself!

“Dear Haim,
It has been so very busy here, thank God, that I never had the chance to formally thank you for the absolutely beautiful job you and your team did with our rugs and sofa. I know when a job is superior and such is the case, much to my surprise, upon entering the apartment after you completed the work.

Thank you again – you will ever be our service provider etc…“

Sunlight Customer, Oriental Rug Cleaning

A few weeks ago, I had Haim Shemesh clean my sofa & I was very pleased. He was professional, the price was reasonable & my sofa looks brand new again!

Sunlight Customer, Oriental Rug Cleaning

I had Haim Shemesh from Sunlight clean all my area rugs. He did a fabulous job! They are all handmade Orientals and he took them to a place that soaks them in a tub and hand washes them the way it’s supposed to be done. They look so much better and brighter Haim came to my apt to give me an estimate, took the rugs, then delivered them back to me a week later. He even helped me set them back up, including moving furniture around to do so. Prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend doing business with him!
